Timber Frame House near Lunenburg
We built this timber frame house on a waterfront lot in First South just outside Lunenburg.
The house walls and roof are constructed with SIPs (structural insulated panels) around a white oak timber frame. We assembled all the timber frame components on site and used a crane for the erection of the timber frame and the installation of the SIP panels. The entire package came on to the site on six 70-foot tractor trailers which took us a day to unload.
All components were built or precut by RiverBend Timber Framing in Michigan, which is owned by a Canadian company in Calgary. Latest photos are immediately below.
The house as a “Project in Progress” is featured in the Spring/Summer 2016 edition of the digital magazine Elegant Wood Homes. We are pleased to be able to let you read the whole article (PDF, 2.5 MB).
